About

Born in London to an Irish family, I spent many years hopping between Ireland and England before finally settling down on a peninsula in the west of Ireland with my husband and son, where we now happily reside with 8 chickens and a dog.

I have always had a love of food, for as long as I can remember. As a child I was well-known for pilfering food from everyone elses’ plates. I really only started to cook (rather than heat up stuff) following the birth of my son, when I figured it was probably time to learn a thing or two.  Since then I haven’t looked back and I get great satisfaction from putting food on the table for family and friends.  My style is most definitely rustic, homely and everyday cooking and you are unlikey to find many cutting edge or intricate recipes on this blog – I will leave that to those more capable than I!  Instead I will offer simple recipes for everyday cooking that I have tried and tested and work for me. I am most definitely still a learner but that is one of the things I love about food – there is always something new to learn or waiting to be discovered.

Happy cooking x
